Last Shabbat in the Galut

It is now Thursday night, less than 24 hours away from Shabbat Kodesh. This is a very special Shabbat for me, because it is my last Shabbat in the exile, on Monday morning I begin my trek to the land of our forefathers! My bags are filling up and my room is clearing out and wow I can actually see the floor for the first time in about 2.5 years . It was 2.5 years ago that I left our beloved land, returned to the filth of exile, which I can say has taken its toll on me. I find it interesting that I am coming to live in the holy land between the two Torah portions of Kitezte Lamilchama (When you shall go out to war) and Ki Tavo el Haaretz (when you shall enter the land). I think metaphorically speaking I had to fight my own wars in order to merit entering the land. There are so many who are not able to overcome their personal battles and fail to enter the land that the Almighty has sworn to us. So the journey begins as I go from my land, from my birthplace and my father’s house to go to the Land, which G-d has returned to us after 1,900 of exile.

  1. WOW! Wonderful news and nice first blog post! I hope you update it frequently with what happens on your journey and blessing upon entering The Holy Land . Just remember Yosef: Through the good and even through the bad - Through the most joyous of times and through the most testing of times ahead, just turn to HaShem in thanksgiving and acknowledgement - and I hope and pray you grow so very much in your faith, hope and strength - through action - in this most bold and brave of moves... Not everyone can merit such a wonderful blessing of entering the land of Israel - but always remember Yosef, the priviledge and duty you have to your people, land and G-d - in Israel! Much success, hope and joy in serving HaShem in the Land given to you : Conquer and Settle the Land - and remember to fullfill ALL of The Comandments that HaShem has so lovingly given you... Always have faith, Yosef, Always...
G-d bless you and strengthen you,
    Sincerely,
